I. Introduction to Jet Milling Principle

Compressed air is accelerated by supersonic nozzles located around the fluidized bed and enters the bed. Inside the fluidized bed mill, the airflows collide with each other to form a grinding chamber. Materials enter the fluidized bed mill through the feed inlet and, driven by the airflow, collide and frictionate with each other in the middle of the grinding chamber, resulting in comminution. Qualified fine powder is carried by the ascending airflow into the vertical turbine classifier located above the fluidized bed. The classifier separates the qualified material and directs it into a cyclone collector (if multiple particle size ranges are required, additional vertical turbine classifiers can be installed). The finer tailings are carried by the airflow into a bag filter, where they are filtered and collected through the outlet below the filter, while the purified air is exhausted.

II. Product Introduction

Regarding the jet mill itself, it does not have any moving parts or motor-driven transmission devices. High-pressure air generated by the air compressor is instantaneously released into the mill through the nozzles. Unlike traditional grinding methods, there are no grinding media such as "grinding rings," "grinding balls," or "grinding tracks" in contact with the material. The material is propelled by the high-pressure air and collides within the mill to achieve comminution. The entire grinding process does not involve prolonged pressure or friction, and the material is crushed through mutual collisions, making it suitable for high-hardness, high-purity, and heat-sensitive materials. Additionally, there are no traditional equipment wear issues.

III. Performance Advantages and Features

The jet mill classifier is equipped with a vertical turbine classifier as the standard configuration. The crushing and classification processes are synchronized, and the product fineness can be adjusted by varying the classifier's rotational speed through a frequency converter. If multiple particle size ranges are required in a single processing cycle, two to four additional classifiers can be installed to transform the mill into a two-stage to five-stage crushing and classification system. The equipment can be constructed from carbon steel, stainless steel, or other specified materials, and the internal lining can be customized according to needs.

The internal circulation formed between the vertical turbine classifier and the fluidized bed ensures a qualified product particle size of d97=2~74μm.

4. Minimal Over-Grinding: The unique classification flow field reduces the gas-solid concentration in the classification zone, preventing over-grinding.
